House plant advice

My house isn't great for house plants as it's pretty dark, but I absolutely love them! Since we moved here, they keep dying so I'm looking for advice on which may survive!

I'm looking for a tall one, for an east facing bedroom. Ideally I'd love something like a fiddle leaf fig but it looks like they need lots of light :(

Any suggestions welcome and appreciated

I use angle poise lamps with daylight bulbs and so far that keeps my plants alive.

Aspidistras are tough, tolerant of neglect and like shade. They've always been a popular houseplant because they're hard to kill!
