Plant for tub on patio

I’m looking for something not green or bush like for a tub in an area which will be sheltered from wind but accessible for sunshine, which will last from now through winter months.
Does such a thing exist?

What do you mean by 'not green' - do you mean different coloured foliage?

And how big do you want, do you want evergreen, do you want flowers?

My favourite tub plants are patio apple trees underplanted with something pretty. But obviously no good for now as starting to lose leaves (although I like that).

I've planted in pots with some of the mini shrubs which have berries/peppers along with cyclamen, winter flowering pansies or violas then spring bulbs to come through. Sometimes with perennials which have different foliage for interest - e.g hucheras

We have hedge around the boundary and an apple tree in the middle so need an injection of other colour than more green for variation.
We also have lavender but that will be gone soon so just need something for a bit of brightness.
I’ll have a look at those mentioned thanks.
