Dog Bed gardens

Just caught up with Gardeners World, and a lady near Edinburgh had 11 miniature gardens on her terrace made from black plastic dog beds, about 2 feet 6 high from the ground. Each was a different kind of garden, a country cottage, a seaside garden, a Japanese garden, all with miniatures houses and potting sheds, pergolas, ponds, lots of thing probably from dolls house suppliers. The planting was all to scale with miniature plants that were in keeping with the size of the gardens. They were absolutely enchanting. If I ever have to live with a tiny garden I would do this. Well worth a watch, about 20 minutes in on iPlayer. Exquisite.

I saw that, they were brilliant. I loved the miniature potting shed and even bird houses. So much detail!

I saw them. The level of detail was astonishing and I'd love to know how long she spends on each one.

Sadly she didn't explain how she made them (unlike GW showing us how to dig a hole or fill a seed tray every blooming week), but I imagine you would drill drainage holes, put some grit for drainage, then compost, and then let your imagination run riot. What fun! And no backbreaking digging!
