It's a hibiscus

agree, Hibiscus. I think they're fairly slow-growing so it's quite mature; I have two but one has never flowered! The one that has is white flowers.

Lidl sell them from time to time. Beautiful big blousy flowers. Don't think they're hardy - mine didn't last until the next year but I'm in Scotland.

Yes Hibiscus Syriacus, have two in large pots one pink like above and one blue. I had one planted in the garden which succumbed to a very cold winter after about 10 years.

Lots growing where I live. I pinch the flowers as I walk past, and feed them to my tortoises who love them!
