Cheapest bulbs?

Thinking ahead about putting in some tulips this year in two big borders. Could anyone recommend the most cost effective place to buy a lot of tulip & daff bulbs? I don’t need fancy varieties, just a bit of colour.

J Parker’s are good I don’t buy them until December as they discount substantially. Tulips can go in really late. I have been using them for years.

Local Poundland had loads of bulbs and corms. I bought crocus - 10 for 50p

Lidl and Aldi normally have bog standard varieties for not much, then slightly fancier varieties for a bit more. They tend to be the cheapest at smallish quantities that I've found, and the quality is as good as anywhere.

Also, wilko used to be excellent for bulbs, so I hope they struggle through.

I’ve just bought some in B&Q - they had the same varieties I bought from j Parker last year but at a fraction of the cost. A really nice selection too.

Unlike daffodils, tulips rarely come up for a second season. So, in a big area I would plant 80 daffodils to to 20 tulips. I would also intersperse them as it will not be so noticeable if they don’t flower again.
