Help me identify this small tree?

We've just moved in and this small tree is one of only 3 living plants in the garden (and a weed). Any ideas?

Think it might be a bird cherry.

@ElizabethVonArnim thank you for replying! I've looked that up but I think the leaf in mine is a bit too long and narrow to be that (shame though!)

Looks a bit like peach. But unlikely if the last owner wasn’t a gardener

@MereDintofPandiculation this could be right! It's hard to tell for sure but definitely possible. The couple here might have just bought it wanting fruit but no idea about looking after it (the ties round the trunk are already too tight)
