My friend and I both bought one with about a years gap jn. I bought mine first. She is a gardening magician. I swear she could get anything to thrive. Anyhow mine just has a few pinprick white buds I’ve just noticed and are probably too late to open now. Saw her garden at the weekend and her one has mounds of frothy flowers just turning to pink.🤔

Her plant is in a sunnier spot. Could it be that?

First rule of gardening : patience. Your friend’s will flower first if it is getting more light. It will stop flowering sooner, as well. fWIW, we have two, one is in full flower, the other is in bud at the moment.

Hydrangea are woodland plants, they don’t mind shade but they do like water (that’s why they have hydra = water in their name). Give it a good drink and some liquid feed to encourage it.
