Thank you. The markings are more like a giraffe .. it has a bright red head. Should we let some entomologist know about it, or is not as rare as all that?

The numbers of garden tiger moths has dropped, I was lucky to find one in my garden a couple of weeks ago the first for many years.

We get a fair few Jersey Tiger Moths, similar but more mottled. Not seen one this year though

Sorry @KeziaOAP , you'd already posted that. I was so excited to get a chance to tell people about the count that I jumped to the end before RTFT.

I haven't seen any this year and I'm in Jersey! Just have to wait until my sister and her moth trap arrives next week. Then the house will be full of moths!
