How do I get rid of spiders please?!

So I'm out of work at the minute and my absolutely, lovely, amazing DH has suggested I use my time wisely by completely gutting out and cleaning the shed. There's old paint tins, old punctured swimming pools in etc so I will need to do a few tip runs.

Only.. it's full of spiders, like big hairy massive spiders. I've known queen bees go in there and not make it out alive.
I'm having the heebie jeebies just thinking about it! Does anyone know of a way I can evict these spiders of their own accord before I go in please? 🙏🏻
I tried fresh lemon pieces before but this didn't work 🫣

@MomentOnTheLips & @DismantledKing Conkers contain chemical substances called saponins which are insecticidal, so although it is not scientifically proven, I suspect that spiders are intelligent enough to steer clear of something that poisons its prey.

No, I’m afraid that’s bollocks.

How much do you know about toxicology?

A fair bit more than you I’d imagine. I also know that spiders haven’t the intelligence to reason why insects aren’t in certain trees. They’re not corvids or primates. The fact that you used ‘not scientifically proven’ in your own post shows that it’s bollocks.

Scientists haven't yet figured out the method by which even the tiniest baby spiders know how to construct such intricate webs.

So it isn't scientifically proven how they do it. Yet they do.

Peppermint essential oil diluted in a spray bottle. Spray everywhere and leave the door open. They will vacate.

There was a place that marketed a “spider proof shed” where the wood was impregnated with peppermint oil.
