What is wrong with my hydrangea

Bought from a garden centre a couple weeks ago. Planted in a pot. Sun in the morning, shade in the afternoon.

I'm not very good with plants, but was really trying with this guy - but now it looks like this?! What's wrong with it - too much/little water?

They need lots of water. Clue is in the name.

I've been doing a heavy watering every other day as I'd read it wasn't as good to give them a little every day.

Does it look like they still aren't getting enough?

A good watering every day is absolutely fine.
