Anyone recognise this leaf?

All the streets round here have piles of these dead leaves all over the pavement! And it's not even autumn! Also they appear on roads with hardly any trees, and I can't see any trees with narrow leaves like this. Weird!

It's part of a lime tree (tilia) flower, I think

Just googled that, thanks. There are quite a few lime trees round here, but when you glance up at them, you just see the rounder, green leaves, not those narrow yellow ones, almost hiding! I'll try and have a closer look tomorrow.

If it’s lime, it”ll have some sign of the stem that held the seed, on the other side, where the bend is

That really looks like it! And there was a little stem on the other side. We must have lots of lime trees round here. Thanks everyone. Mystery solved, I will tell the neighbours!
