What’s eating through my courgette stem?

stem cut clean through - see near base of the yellow fruit.

thought it might have been wind damage but it was a very clean cut and Googling suggests might be sawfly.

anyone had similar?

My cabbages look like this, clean through the stems and it’s bloody pigeons! Bird tape worked for about 30 seconds.

Arghhhhh!!!!

Razor beaks!! Considering spending my day off constructing a terrifying scarecrow though I think they’re beyond saving now.
