It looks extremely dry?
Soak it in the water overnight?

MrsLiam · 10/06/2023 20:50

I wouldn't hold my breath that it will recover, but don't give up hope yet, as the root ball might still be alive. Give it a really good drink, cut off the dead bits, put it somewhere light but not too sunny, and see if it resprouts.

Well, it’s not a houseplant, but a Hydrangea which needs plenty of moisture. I don’t hold out much hope for it, but agree with @MrsLiam , give it a good soak and see if it revives.

Soak it throughout and plant it in the garden straight to the soil if you can , no planters.
Hydrangeas likes sun and lots of water.

Stick it outside in full shade in a bucket of water for a couple of days and see if it recovers. They are tough old things so you might get it back.

Thanks all!! Sorry for the stupid questions but...

  1. this should be an outdoor plant?
  2. when you say soak.. soak the whole lot in the current pot?

Clue is in the name - hydra so it needs lots of water!
Can you put it in a sink or bucket of water for a day? See if it revives a bit

UnexpectedDaisy · 10/06/2023 22:35

Good point @BeverlyBrook didn't even think about that!! It's in pretty much a bath with all the dead bits cut off.. will report back. Thanks guys!!!
