App for plant identification and care?

I am a keen but clueless gardener. Is there an app that will scan a plant/flower, and tell me it's over watered/needs pruning/feeding etc?
I either drown my plants or they die of thirst. I'm determined not to let that happen any more!

No, there isn't an app that can do that. One of the many reasons is that it is very difficult to tell at a glance whether something is suffering because it was waterlogged or because it dried out. The plant tends to look the same either way!

You need to learn more about the plants you like first - before you buy them.

Then you can plant them in suitable conditions and care for them according to their likes and dislikes. It is honestly better to do it that way round than to keep on suffering expensive losses.

PictureThis will identify plants and also tell you if they need specific care. There is a diagnostic function on it.

Thank you @ApolloandDaphne

RHS Grow app does this.

Don’t rely on an app for id, they can get it wrong. Google round the answer and see if it makes sense.

RHS app will tell you what plant needs. I doubt whether there’s an app which will look at your plant and say what’s wrong with it
