Choosing roses for pots

I'd love blousy cream roses for a few pots. I keep going to David Austin but can't find what I want. Large blooms. Long flowering period. Smell would be fantastic but not essential. Mainly I want blousy 😁. Could live with pink or apricot undertones but not bright. Ideally a peony type bloom rather than open or classic tea rose. Suggestions please 🙂

I have Buff Beauty but not sure how it would be in a pot. It’s in a narrow border wit me but quite vigourous. Might be more apricot than what you want though. Lovely scent.

Do NOT get William and Kate. It blooms it's heart out all summer long but where it says 4ft x 4ft and suitable for pots in the website - it's LIES! I hack it to the ground every spring and I had to stake it last week - it's over 7ft already. Instead of dead heading I chop an arm off and I swear 4 more grow in its place. It's a beast.

I've got my eye on a Margaret Merrill, white with the teensiest hint of pink and, apparently an amazing scent. I went looking for a picture and found this website. It seems to be suitable for a pot.

My Generous Gardener has bloomed in a pot, when you Google it looks quite pink but mine is definitely more cream in RL

(You can see the bugs like it too)

I have Claire Austin on an obelisk in a pot, it’s fabulous.

Ooo lovely. I'm sold on the Claire Austin. It's exactly what I want. As a rose novice, the reviewer said it would get tall. I suppose it wouldn't go well in a pot or border? I saw a Boscobel this morning and was stunned by the size of its blooms 😍

I also have a generous gardener. This year it finally escaped deer browsing it and I have a few lovely blooms. I might buy some more. Is it possible to get cuttings from DA roses?
