Slate supplier

Hi, finally getting to the point where I need to order some bulk bags of slate to finish off garden - anybody got a company to recommend or even warm me not to use?

Difficult to recommend as I don’t know where you live. However, your local builders merchant should be able to help. We recently needed 10 tons of slate for a gravel garden and visited a local supplier which had samples laid out. Happy to give us some to take home. Helped us calculate the amount required and arranged delivery. The delivery driver loaded the bags into the required spot using lorry crane.

Thanks, that sounds like great service. There are local ones we could try as well as lots and lots of online ones....so too much choice if anything.

Use a local builders merchant and go and look at the product. Take a bottle of water with you and damp the sample down to check what colour it goes when wet. Some of them go a darker grey, some a lurid purple or bottle green.

Best to go for a local one where you can see the product before ordering. Delivery is usually free if you order a certain amount.
