Best pond plant recommendations

To look pretty, attract wildlife or both?
What size (and depth) of pond?

Bistort is looking good at the moment. Love irises.

Marsh marigolds are fantastic. Mine survived last years drought when my pond had hardly any water. I thought it had died but it's back again. Apparently they go into a sort of hibernation in drought.
