Query about RHS membership and show tickets

If I join the RHS now for a year’s membership (using my Tesco Clubcard points before they devalue in June) can I buy members tickets to use after my membership has ended? For example members tickets for Hampton Court are available now for July 2023. Next May 24 when I am still a member can I buy members tickets for Hampton Court July 24 even though when it gets to then my membership will have expired? Do you have to show a current membership card when you’re using members tickets?

You need a valid membership at the time you visit .. so no, you couldn’t buy members tickets but use them after the membership has expired.

They check your membership number when you buy the tickets online, but I buy my HC tickets in winter and my membership expires in may, so that doesn’t seem to be a problem. And I don’t remember my membership ever being checked at the entrance.

Thank you both wohmum and ladygardener. I was a member (just for a year) sometime ago and I don’t remember my membership being checked when I got to HC.

I think I’ll put off joining til mid July to be sure I’m covered for HC 24.
