Happy Bee 🐝 day! Share your bee pictures

Happy International Bee Day - wouldn’t it be lovely to share a picture of a happy bee benefiting from your garden.

Im going to try and take a better one but he wouldn’t stay still 🐝

This was August 2020. Took a while to get the shot- I was very pleased with it!

One I took last year in my garden.

One from last year. Just planted out lots of wildflowers and pollinator friendly seeds so hoping for lots more this year.

I also planted a green manure in the veg beds which turned out to be crimson clover - very popular with bees so I've left it to flower for them

Just popped out to the garden to look and found this little bee having a good feed

They are fabulous, I feel like I don’t see as many any more, I had mason bees for a few years but haven’t seen any for the last two years sadly.

Alliums

Loads of bees in our garden - planting is totally for them. First to flower are the Heather's, then they have rhododendron and azaleas followed by poppies, globe thistle, sea holly, roses, jasmine, lillies, alliums and many others.

Landed on DH just now!
We have lots of alliums in flower which are attracting lots of bees which is lovely.

DD & I actually went on a Bee Safari run by the Bumblebee Trust. Saw a few including the rare Shrill Carder Bumblebee.
Here's a pick I took in the gardens, plus one from a couple of years ago.

All the photos are stunning! A bee safari ? That sound mine and my daughters type of thing.

This one was run at Lytes Cary Manor in Somerset jointly between the two. The NT ranger & bee enthusiasts took us into a part of the site not open to visitors, & we safely caught, observed & released the bees we caught.

Does anyone else find those bee rescue videos that pop up on facebook fascinating?

Took this yesterday.

Haven’t seen any this year which is worrying but this was last year.
