Looks like a fungal infection to me. Our cherry tree got this after our garden was flooded. It didn't last long after it started and we had to get it removed.

Oh dear, the tree is new, we got it less than two months ago! I’ll get some fungicide…

So, I read that this is ‘shot’ disease which happens due to watering with a sprinkler. I used a fungicide spray on the leaves and this slowed the issue down. I also stopped using the sprinkler.

However I’m now wondering if the upcoming rain will cause a problem? Because ultimately what is the difference between a sprinkler and rain?!
