Plant Id please

Sadly the cuttings I took from DMs hydrangea didn’t take but I seem to have acquired a few other things in the pot. I think one is a poppy, one might be a cherry seedling perhaps but no idea what the frondy thing is. My plant Id app says dill but it doesn’t smell dill like. I do have it elsewhere in the garden whatever it is. Any ideas?

Could it be love-in-the-mist?

Igneococcus · 17/05/2023 08:13

Could it be a carrot seedling? Dill and carrots look a lot alike when they are that small.

Seaitoverthere · 17/05/2023 08:17

I also think it is possibly Love in the mist.

BestIsWest · 17/05/2023 08:22

Good shout, could well be. I did have some in the garden last year.

Love in the Mist or Cosmos.

BestIsWest · 17/05/2023 08:31

Sounds like a win either way then! Not a weed which is good.

I think Nigella/love in a mist, too.

Love in a mist

BestIsWest · 17/05/2023 10:38

Thank you and do you think the other one is a cherry?

Possibly. Leaf teeth look too irregular

SoGladofYou · 17/05/2023 21:22

Try the PlantNet App.

Try the PlantNet App.

That might throw up species for consideration but simple pattern recognition can’t beat horticultural/botanical knowledge

BestIsWest · 20/05/2023 08:36

Yes, I’ve got the PlantNet app - that’s what said cherry.

And dill for the love in the mist.

I do find it handy though I’m always glad when @MereDintofPandiculation is around to give expert opinion.
