Evening everyone. I’ve spent a glorious afternoon in the garden and now need some advice. I’ve been having building work done and the new raised beds have had top soil delivered but it’s not great quality - heavy and quite claggy. They’re only half full so where should I get bulk compost/ manure to improve matters? Is the stuff supplied by builders merchants a bit of a con? I can probably get some horse manure but it’ll be too fresh to plant in this year. Any suggestions rather than spending a fortune in the garden centre?
