Houseplant question

I appreciate this is a gardening board, but wondered if anyone could help me with a houseplant problem? We have a very old ficas that has always been pretty bombproof. However, it's recently started to drop leaves and develop a discolouration on the leaves (please see pic). Does anyone know what's wrong and how to fix it?

That looks very unhappy! Quite possibly an infestation of red spider mite, which are very difficult to see with the naked eye, you would need a magnifying lens. Treatment would be with an insecticide suitable for RSM, of which there are few. However, I can’t actually see whether that is what the problem is, but spraying with insecticide might help.

Give it a shower and then a good old spray of Babybio bug spray. I’m afraid I’m very liberal with it indoors when needed. Looks like spider mites or thrips.

Thank you both - I will give it a go with the Baby Bio.

If you can stick it under a gentle shower and try and clean the leaves off first. All of mine get stuck in the shower once a week (tragic) to get dust and any bugs off
