Is this a weed?

DH and I are not gardeners, although we're starting out. While I was out today he was tidying and found these in a pot we planted last year. I can't remember what was in it. He's transferred them to a different planter but are they weeds?

It's a weed if you don't want it there! Looks like lily to me though.

I'll be delighted if they are lillies so thank you! We've done absolutely nothing with them, is it normal for them to come up again the following year?

They are lilies and they come back every year. They will appreciate a feed now and again. You can plant them in the ground when they are dormant if you want.

Keep a check for lily beetles and if you get them squish with fingers. Lilies so lovely for scent.

Be careful if you have cats though Lilies are poisonous to cats.

Great thank you all, didn't realise they would keep coming back, I will look after them in that case. No cats here.
