What should I plant here?

I'm a gardening novice and trying to make my front garden look nicer.

Can anyone advice what I can't plant in this space at the front of my house? It's north facing, shaded pretty much all day and very chalky. It's about 2m x 1m.

Ideally looking for something low maintenance that will look attractive and provide a bit of privacy from next door.

Thank you.

Euonymus seems to grow pretty much anywhere, as does cotoneaster. Maybe try euonymus 'Emerald gaiety' - a nice green and white variegated one, and cotoneaster 'coral beauty' which is a low-growing variety with lovely berries in the autumn. For a bit of summer colour, then busy lizzies would be happy there, they prefer the shade I think. And of course you could plant bulbs this autumn too.

Hardy ( Cranesbill) Geraniums come in a wide variety and like shade, they pretty much grow anywhere.
