Gladioli bulbs - possible idiot 😂

new gardener here and bought a back of gladioli bulbs. The packet said to plant them in clumps of 5, so I’ve planted 5 bulbs in the same hole.

now thinking that’s maybe not right and they maybe meant like 5 in the same area??

can anyone help? Only did it yesterday so could do them properly if needed!!

How big was the hole? The bulbs will need to be a little way apart at least, but I usually plant closer than the instructions say (usually to separate by 10-15cm) or I find bulbs can look a bit sparse.

Don't panic! But yes, you are right...best to plant them about 6 inches apart, rather than in the same hole. Youv've got this!

They were definitely all touching - I’ll dig them up this evening!

we moved into a house with a big (to us) garden a few years ago - it’s a very steep learning curve!!
