@Cherryblossom200 , you need to provide a link, as we are not mind readers!

Bougainvillea

Unescorted · 01/05/2023 16:24

It looks like a Bougainvillea

Cherryblossom200 · 01/05/2023 16:27

Thanks, I heard you can't grow a
Bourganvilia in the UK? It's more suited to a Mediterranean climate?

Anyone have one successfully grown in the UK?

You can buy it fairly cheaply at this time of year and keep it indoors. I've grown it outside (SE) during the summer too, but it has perished as soon as the weather turned cold

Cherryblossom200 · 01/05/2023 16:35

Think I'll keep it inside in a pot in my extension. I absolutely love this plant!

Thank you 😊

I have one in my kitchen. It goes outside in summer, but needs to be inside below about 10 degrees. Don't forget to feed it.

Cherryblossom200 · 01/05/2023 17:07

Does it not grow massive? Just thinking how I would contain it in my home.

Is this a bourgainvillea too?

No

CupEmpty · 03/05/2023 14:15

@Cherryblossom200 it does grow large but you would just have to prune it - I think the flowers only grow on the newer growth so you may end up with no flowers. Also be aware it has small spines/ spikes so not good if around children, and the falling leaves/ flowers can make a mess. I’ve had loads in our gardens (abroad) but never inside.

Thanks!

Zabette what plant is it?

Is this a bourgainvillea too?

No, it's plastic flowers woven into a climbing rose.

Cherryblossom200 · 03/05/2023 17:11

Ok thanks! 😂😂
