Looking at this for ground cover in a border to fill some gaps that weeds are currently winning.

What is it please?

Cerastium - also known as 'Snow On The Mountain' - excellent ground cover and will also grow out of walls and tumble down in cascades!

I call it snow in summer. Gorgeous plant it flowers for ages and it stays evergreen through the winter.

Thanks, related to this. I have tried cardboard method of weed suppression. If I plant this in a hole in the cardboard it won't be able to spread.

I would expect the cardboard to rot underneath it. It spreads before it puts roots down, it can spread best part of a foot before rooting, and by the time it’s been there a year the cardboard will have rotted.

Thanks. Foxes had a go at my cardboard last night, digging through the mulch bark chippings. Was thinking of covering the border with some netting. Would that work?
