I looked it up and that's exactly what the RHS says. It seems to have really spread this year. Otherr plants like Vinca have also gone crazy.

The spikes of (poisonous) red berries really light up the undergrowth

I’ve been digging them out but the leaves snap off really easily leaving the bulb behind. Dig them out if you can before they over run your garden!
