Can I move roses that have started growing?

I've put a couple of climbing roses and a normal rose into a bed and I now realise that it was a terrible idea. I want to move them but the have already started to get leaves. Will I kill them if I move them?

No they’ll be fine. Just dig nice and deep around them to disturb the roots as little as possible.

Give them a good watering after you’ve moved them. I always put half a watering can full of water at the bottom of the planting hole before I put the rose in. And then water as usual after planting with the remaining water.

Much better to do it now that later in the year when it’s hot.

Yes it’s fine. Add Rootgrow to the planting holes you move them to.
