Impatience hanging basket help.

I have changed up the size of my hanging baskets this year to 14 inches.

The two in my front garden are only in full sun for the morning. So I thought I would go with busy lizzies.

how many do u think to make it look full? Also. I wanted to add something green that hung down as well. Any idea for only morning sun?

I love my hanging baskets I do every year for the front of my house and they only get evening sun. I do use busy lizzies but they're mostly fuchsias as they're my favourite. I do an upright one in the centre then 3 or 4 trailing ones around the edge so they would be green with the bonus of flowers! Sometimes I use nepeta, ivy, lobelia and bacopa for trailing. Mine done like this do well with not much direct sun.

All that in one basket!!! Mins is. 14 inch one will I fit all that in there. It sounds lovely

I find the more you put in a basket the more flowers they produce. If they've got nothing to contend with and too much soil they put all their energy in the roots and the leaves.

I don't use all the trailing plants at once, just one out of the lobelia, ivy and nepeta. Usually 2 lobelia, 1 bacopa and 3 or 4 trailing fuchsia around the edge. Upright fuchsia in the centre then maybe 4 busy lizzies. That usually fits in a 14" basket but it depends how big the plants are when you plant it.

This was probably well into summer.
