Seas164 · 20/04/2023 17:37

It might be a nice geranium blown in for somewhere. I would leave it and see?

I agree. Cranesbill / pelargonium are easy to weed out if you decide, later on, that they are not for you.

Spanielsarepainless · 20/04/2023 18:20

Cranesbill.

FisherThem · 20/04/2023 18:37

It is very definitely not a nice geranium, I've got loads of them. The base is more like how herb Robert grows so I'm pretty sure it's some unwanted shiny geranium which like to be eaten invasive !

Yes, cranesbill/shiny geranium. I'm not sure if those are two names for the same thing or slightly different varieties? I alsways call it cranesbill.
In my garden it isn't a problematic weed. It likes my greenhouse and a couple of other places. Itp ops up cheerfully here and there, but if I weed it out it always seems to take the hint .

SarahAndQuack · 20/04/2023 19:04

Cranesbill is a generic name for hardy geraniums (as opposed to pelargoniums, which aren't hardy).

I have this weed in my garden but haven't found it too invasive - here's hoping!

As weeds go, it’s a good un. Nice shallow roots and very easy to pull. Quite satisfying.
