Honeysuckle questions.

Have been watching a few videos and people seem to be growing honeysuckle on arches. I am adding one to my garden soon and wondered about having this growing up it.

I have lots of other climbers in my garden and wanted something different. But don’t know much about it. If I kept on top of it would i be able to keep it from growing out of control. Or am I mad to think of it. I have jasmines, roses and clematis already.

It's lovely and pretty easy to care for (and keep under control).

Look at the pericylmenum rather than the henryi - the latter can be VERY vigorous if you don't keep on top of it, although wonderful for covering any ugly structure. The former are pretty easy to keep under control

Mine doesn’t seem to mind being aggressively chopped every year
