When is best month to sow grass seed ?

I have a South East garden but this year the righthand side of my lawn is thick with moss Ive killed it off with weed n feed and raked it but Im now left with a very large area of mud and patches of grass. Would I be able to salvage this with grass seed and if so when is best to sow it p.s the area in question only gets the sun from sunrise till around 10am

I'd say around now! I usually do end of March/start of April then another top dress with soil and a bit more grass seed in October.

You can seed now (as pp says) but beware that you've not really tackled the reason for the moss, so you may find it just comes back again.

It might be worth top dressing that part of the lawn with good drainage soil before reseeding - to try and decrease the combo of contstant wet and shade that ennncourages moss during the winter.
