North facing hanging basket

I'm completely new to gardening so will probably be on here quite a lot this year asking questions! I've got a north facing front garden, and have a space for a hanging basket by my front door. It gets no sun at all and it always seems quite damp out there. What kind of plants could I put in a basket there. All I know is ferns, but I was hoping for something trailing and maybe colourful to fill out the space as well. Any suggestions?

Trailing begonias could work if you fancy flowers.otherwise ivy. Our north facing front door gets Sun till about 11am in summer then nothing. I overstuffed a basket with surfinias and feed it well and it looks good all summer.
