Have an empty border/raised bed (approx 1m x 5m) that I've earmarked for cut flowers but I've no idea what seeds to plant and I'm wondering if you lovely green fingered lot have any suggestions?

Won't be able to put anything in till I've planted the sweet peas I want to grow up the fence that's behind the raised bed, and hope to get them planted 1st week of May,...

In central Scotland and bed will get full sun from early afternoon, it that influence on recommendations 🌸🌺🌼

Dahlias, Cosmos, Zinnias are probably your best bets at this time of year. Maybe scatter some cornflowers, calendula, scabious direct.

Follow Zoe Woodward on instagram and from September she will start sowing the seeds for next years cut flower garden.

I'm planning similar and will include those three as well as lilies, as well as amni, snapdragons, sunflowers, linaria, nicotiana, and probably some others which I'll get tempted by along the way...

Cosmos and sweet peas are my go to for cut flowers - am also in Scotland. I also have some freesia corms to plant out, though I haven't tried these before.
