Weed or fruit plant?

I bought my first house 2 years ago this month, and so I'm still very new to gardening, missed the first year really with decorating inside and got very into it last year just winging it. Have learnt a lot and planted lots of seeds on time this year.

Anyway, the last owner left a big pile of pots and some hanging baskets, which were mostly empty or had weeds in. When emptying them last year I thought buried under the weeds two of the baskets had some sort of fruit plant in, maybe raspberry judging by the leaves. I weeded then and moved them into a sunny area and they grew a lot, but no flowers or anything but leaves. The stems look red right now. My neighbours are convinced I'm growing weeds, but I can't bring myself to give up on them. I haven't given them much care though I'll admit. Google Lens think they are raspberry or blackberry. Can anyone identify?

Looks like raspberry to me from the growth habit. If so, they're most likely summer fruiting ones, which fruit on last year's growth. So all the woody stems should crop, while the new shoots will flower and fruit next year.

If they’re raspberry they’ll have pale undersides to the leaves. They could also be one of the hybrid berries, loganberry, tayberry etc

Raspberry, blackberry, or one of the hybrids. You won't know until it fruits.

Not raspberry. Probably thornless blackberry.

Oh, I was really hoping for raspberry. I don't have much bedding space, was happy to put them in if definitely raspberry but I think I will repot them into something bigger for this year and see what happens.

Raspberry canes sprouting.

Need to see the underside of the leaves to confirm . Several Rubus species look like this when sprouting
