Pretty vibrantly leaved little bush. Any ideas?

I’ll open the bidding with spiraea - some have golden leaves.

Hmmm, wouldn't there be flowers around now if spirea? I'm not familiar with the ones with long white wands?

Is foliage prickly?

UrEatingHamPam · 13/04/2023 19:23

Spirea Japonica I think, will have pink flowers in the summer

I also think spiraea. There are quite a lot of varieties. Some of the yellow/orange ones turn greener over the summer.

Interesting!! I haven't noticed flowers in previous years but will have to keep a beady eye on it. If it is spirea, is it pretty bombproof??

It is quite tough I think! Survives a reasonably hard prune or can just be deadheaded after flowering and pruned to however tall you want it. Leave it alone for now though or you might lose the flowers!

Probably Spiraea “Goldflame”, it should produce small sprays of pinkish flowers in about a month or so.
