Digging, ordering and daydreaming here.

I only got mine on Monday - so not a lot. I was going to get a man to come in and rotovate the lot (big plot that has not been worked for a couple of years so very overgrown), but I've heard that this may not be a good idea. Anyone out there help? Apart from that day dreaming and planning and drawing up lists and making plans.

What sort of condition is it in?

Don't rotavate if you can help it, digging up by hand although harder initially will save tons and tons of work later on. If its pure grass a really, really good rotavating session (or prob 3 or 4) may be ok but if there are any weeds such as brambles, bindweed, anything like that chopping up the roots will simply propagate them.

I have dug everything over, planted strawberries, onions, shallots, garlic, one row potatoes and of course... dreamed and organised and re-organised my seeds !

Oh and have planted chilli, tomatoe, courgette, squash, aubergine, kale and sprouting brocolli seeds in the windowsill...

We have planted strawberries, some more blackcurrants, a gooseberry and a loganberry.

Put up posts and wire to support existing raspberries and blackberry.

Put forcer over rhubarb.

Built a super-deluxe compost bin.

Dug over and manured large areas of ground.

Planted broad beans under cloches.

Onions, shallots and garlic went in before Christmas.

Potatoes are chitting in the shed.
Tomato seeds are in the heated propagator.
Celery seeds are on the window sill.
Other seeds are still in packets waiting for the weather to warm up.

Lots of planning (with diagrams!) and arguing/discussions with DH.
