Garden storage: does this exist or any ideas?

I'm looking for a large (wide and just above waist height high) lockable garden storage box that:

  • looks stylish (no ratan or garden-shed style wood) and is water prooof
  • not flat pack/self assembly
-contents is easily accessible in some way - eg opening doors as well as a liftable lid or some pull out drawer features. -white

no budget as prepared to pay if I can find exactly what I want.

This sort of thing

Everything I've seen is self- assembly (which makes me question how waterproof it will be if it has joins that put together by an amateur) and is fairly ugly. I was thinking

I'm open to all suggestions

Would it be possible to get something made do you think? Who would make this sort of thing?

Buy Gardeners World magazine - there are loads of advertisers in the back pages.

SirTarquin · 02/04/2023 17:32

@twolilacs do you mean they have existing ones that match what I'm looking for or that they advertise people who could make one?

Never bought gardening magazines. Is that the best one? I'm definitely looking for something more high-end/designer style.

@SirTarquin You will probably find a better class of advertiser in that particular magazine, yes. There are also some 'posh' homes and gardens type magazines, so they might advertise similar in there.

To be honest, I bought my daughter and her partner one of those big flat-pack ones last year. It has opening doors and a top that lifts up and they use it for storing the lawnmower, etc, as they don't have a garden shed.
Even though it was put together by 'amateurs', it looks smart and does the job. Plus, because it's a plastic kind of material, the cat loves to sit on top of it on warm days!
So flat pack can look really good. Theirs has hydraulic things to help with the lid lift, and two really-bad-at-DIY girls managed to assemble it in an afternoon.

Thanks everyone.

For the people that know about gardening magazines - are there any other ones you'd recommend for this for the adverts? Which other ones are the more high end/posh titles?

I sometime have house &garden and homes and garden but never seen anything like what I am looking for now.
