Potting up indoor plants

I always pot plants into plastic pots then put them into ceramic pots. Just bought a nice ceramic pot for my monstera but can't find a plastic pot the right dimensions for it. Can I put it straight into the ceramic?

Will it have any drainage as they won't like sitting in water

Nope, needs drainage!

Take the ceramic pot you like with you to the garden centre to find one that fits!

Yeah that's what I thought. It seems to have weird dimensions I can find plastic pots with a height and diameter of 25cm. Very annoying

If the plastic pot you get is a little too small for the ceramic one you can raise the plastic one up by putting gravel or something similar in the bottom of the ceramic one. Helps avoid the roots sitting in water if you forget to empty it out after watering too!

Or if you can find a pot that's the right width but too tall you can just cut it shorter with scissors
