Last summer we moved into a house with a garden for the first time, and we now have our front garden sorted with a few plants - and the back being landscaped and planted shortly.

I’m enthusiastic but time-limited and more importantly knowledge-limited! If anyone has any helpful general tips about how to maintain a small garden, new plants, and a lawn, I’d be very grateful! Prompted by reading a thread about how you can mow grass when it’s wet… who knew. I’ve realised I need help before I kill everything off!

Trim the edges of the lawn and mow at least a path through the middle, and the garden will look cared for.

if you want to prune shrubs, do it just after they’ve flowered. If the dont flower till late summer, you can leave the pruning till winter
