Oh! Mine are 6inches tall.

Cosmos , yarrow , petunias , nasturtiums, and so many more. All done today

OnMyWayToSenility · 18/03/2023 13:01

Thanks for the reminder!
I need to get a few in today

Okunevo · 18/03/2023 13:05

I put peas and beans in three weeks ago and they have just started to come up now. Tomatoes are inside for now. Mustard, radish and carrots are in.

Probably no sowing for me this weekend but quite a lot to prick out - globe artichokes and some tomatoes, plus some bigger tomatoes ideally need potting on. Spinach, yarrow, alyssum and coriander are in the greenhouse and the broad beans (sown on NYE) have been in the ground for a fortnight and are enjoying the comparatively mild rainy weather.

Tagetes, calendula, limnanthes, celery, beetroot and chives are on their way up. Waiting for Erigeron, ginger and snapdragon. Despairing of ever getting an aubergine seedling (just like last year though they did eventually appear very late and disappointing)

Nothing yet as away from the end of next week for a week and don’t want to risk it.
when I get back at the beginning of April it will be all systems go!

livingthegoodlife · 18/03/2023 19:21

Cucumbers & parsley & sweet peas, all tomorrow hopefully.

Not sure if I should sow anything else yet?

ThreeRingCircus · 18/03/2023 20:07

Radish, carrots, lettuce, spinach and spring onions were already sown in the greenhouse.

Today I've also sown sunflowers, courgettes and french beans and added those to the greenhouse.

Half of my potatoes are planted, the other half are still chitting in the shed.

I'm going to try the parsley again because the first lot haven't germinated.

Think I'll start the Sunflowers as well Wink

Early potatoes I hope , still had overnight freezing temperatures last week , but honestly I would like my windowsills back from the trays of them ! Then any number of veg seeds that I can find space for.

CrazyBaubles · 18/03/2023 21:43

I'm new to most of this so no idea if I'm early or late.
Today I planted some bedding flowers (pansies I think), plus some sweet peas.
I've sown some tomatoes and peppers in the propagator and have broccoli in the conservatory.
Tomorrow I may sow some lavender and carrots and get my onions in, then do some pruning /tidying up of existing lavender and my strawberries.
I've also pulled last years chilli plants out of the greenhouse. No idea if they're dead or alive but going to tidy them, feed them, warm them up a bit and see what happens 🤞🏻
I do have some potatoes chitting away too but will probably do those next weekend.

Alpine Strawberries and Red Cabbage. I’m sowing something every day at the moment.

buckleten · 18/03/2023 22:05

I have done sweet peas, lupins, baby cucumbers, cherry tomatoes and some stocks today, really lovely warm day esp in the greenhouse!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/03/2023 23:54

I have already sown sweet peas and nastursiums from packet seeds and some nastursiums from last years plants . All in the mini greenhouse thing (basically a tall frame with a zipped cover)
It was quite warm in there when I checked but they;ve done diddly squat so far .

My garden plants are starting t gt new leaves , two Boston Ivy , the older one is ahead , DogWood has new leaves , Clematis has new leaves .
I'm waiting for the PassionFlower to decide if its going to do anything , I really want it to grow it was gorgeous last year .

I have a hardy Buddleiah which is getting loads of leaves and waiting to be planted out .

Wild flowers and potatoes

MintJulia · 19/03/2023 00:19

More french & broad beans, peppers, lettuce, more radish, spring onions, cucumbers. Sweet peas.

Plus planting out the Mothers Day plants my ds bought me at the nursery today 😊

cobblers123 · 19/03/2023 09:21

Yesterday tomato seeds started off, Red Cherry. Also zinnia seeds, potted on some cosmos and potted up a dahlia (Firepot) and some lilies (Rialto).

Today planting a Gertrude Jekyll rose in the border and a daphne (Walberton) into a large pot. Plus some general tidying up in the borders.

DelurkingAJ · 19/03/2023 12:29

DH and DS1 have just planted the potatoes in their bag. I am thinking sweet peas and tomatoes later today.

AlisonDonut · 19/03/2023 12:37

I'm currently moving all the non tender annuals and veg out into a polytunnel before they go out in the ground, and using the space vacated to price out and repot tomatoes, aubergines, chillis and peppers. So not sowing anything at the moment, and not planting anything outside yet.

I've got probably about 400 tomatoes sown, with a fair amount up [spares will go to friends or a plant swap and then donated to a cat charity after the swappers have had their pick]...so plenty to be getting on with.

Margrethe · 19/03/2023 12:39

Thanks for the nudge…I need to sow my sweetpeas too!

That's a very kind thing to do! WinkFlowers

This weekend I did my tomatoes, tagetes, a re-sowing of hyssop given that the first sowing has germinated well, sunflowers, a selection of other flowers in small quantities to re-sow if and when they germinate, plus Chinese chive and Cape gooseberry.

My pepper, chili and aubergine seedlings are coming on nicely.

In the cold frame I have spinach, mizuna and a selection of lettuces germinating OK, plus more recent sowings of lamb's lettuce - a variety which can be sown in spring - and rocket.
