Hi all,

We've recently moved in to our new house.
It's seems that garden hedge is being infected by Clematis vitalba.

Has anyone had the same problem and can advise how to get rid of this?

Can you recommend strong weed killer, please?

Attached photo is from last September.

Thank you!

Cut it off at the base. Repeat every time you have shoots from the base. Nothing can keep going if it isn’t allowed the chance to make energy.

personally I wouldn’t see it as a problem

Although I’d see it as a bonus, if you don’t then do as previous poster suggests.
Please don’t use weed killer, it will kill the surrounding plants and wildlife.

Oh that looks lovely! But if you don’t want it, yes, cut it back as close to the root as you can get. When it sprouts again, poke the shoots back into next door.
