Micro clover - sow or no?

We let the lawn get a bit long last year and DH cut it too short afterwards. It's now looking a bit scraggy.

I've been looking at clover/microclover as a way of greening it up and would be grateful for any thoughts.

Should I just get a box of spring lawn feed and seed instead?

Scarify and rake out any thatch or moss. Treat with lawn feed and moss killer. Cut regularly but not too short and it will recover when the weather starts to warm up. Cover any bare latches with a mixture of compost and grass seed. Feed periodically.
