Is there such a thing? Or am I dreaming.,. Have some geraniums planted on the patio for colour but they are in rather heavy pots.. trying to avoid lifting them into the shed if possible

Yes you can buy fleece to protect from frost - generally get it in rolls at garden centres

For a short period, bubble wrap, but also straw or newspaper if you can't get hold of horticultural fleece. You still want to let light in if possible. More traditionally sheep's wool and hessian sacking was used.
