Aldi compost- yay/nay?

Seem to have 2 types one with seaweed and one without. Has anybody tried either?

Brought both. So far I have used the non premium stuff for my spuds (spuds are in tubs) on my allotment. First impression is very good, much better than expected. I found it was better than the Westland (non peat) I also have. I.e., slightly more compost in texture with smaller bits. It feels more rotted down. Admittedly, I am using Aldi's compost to add to my raised beds, pots for my summer bulbs and bedding plants. I am not using it (on its own) it for my perennial planting.

I used it last year, the regular not the seaweed, and was happy with it

I used Aldi compost last year and was really pleased with how well my plants in containers did in it.

I've bought a bag recently which says it is peat free. First impressions were it looks OK, much better than the New Horizon I bought last year and was so disappointed with the results. Won't buy that again.

what about for seeds has anyone used it for that?

I've used it for seeds and everything is doing really well. I made a mix of 75% Aldi compost and 25% sand to make the mix a bit finer and less nutritious, for cuttings I make the compost/sand mix more like 50/50.

I've used the cheap Aldi multi-purpose compost as is for my pots and containers and been impressed with it, I haven't noticed any difference between that and bags that are far more expensive.

I bought a bag of seaweed compost and a bag of the standard one (there was a hanging basket compost too that I didn't need )

Tried the standard one first -It is a bit chunky in texture but seems god , I mainly used to top up pots and planted some poppies .

What plants will like the seaweed compost ?

(I bought some in lockdown , cannot remember if it was from Amazon ot B&Q when it was open , but it smelled like excrement [envy <not envy ) Not a B&Q own brand .

Used the seaweed one today. It seems very ‘woody’ (lots of little bits of splinter type stuff). Too early to say how good it will be, but hoping it’s ok as I’ve just potted up my very posh new dahlia tubers in it!

How much is it?

I got some 100l packs of multipurpose from the garden centre last weekend, £18 for 2.

That's a good deal! I think the general one at Aldi is about £3 for 40l

Yes, it was one 2 for £18 deal, not sure what 1 was.
