Thujas turning dull

I have a few thujas in my garden and I've noticed the leaves are turning dull/brownish - but not as if they're dry. Hopefully the photo is clear enough.

I have watered them just in case, but any other ideas of what it could be?

Frost burn. I’ve lost a couple of mine to the cold weather this winter.

Oh no, that doesn't sound good 😢

Wait. A lot of conifers do go a funny colour in winter, and then change back when the better weather arrives. So it could be that. If not, and it is dying back, then it is probably a combination of the extreme heat last summer combined with the very cold winter. We had 40 degrees in the summer, and -12 before Christmas. There are a few things in my garden that look a bit iffy, and one of MIL's conifers has definitely had it.

Fingers crossed! Really hope we don't have to replace them...
