Lawn trouble from dog

Hi, my (lovely) dog runs up and down a certain part of the garden and much of the grass is now mud/soil. Is there anything I can do that is relatively easy/cheap to help the grass grow back? Thank you

You can buy plastic grass protection mats on amazon. I got some for under the swing in my garden. The grass grows back through the holes. I can't even tell they're there now and it stays grassy. I only need about 12 though. I guess it could work out quite pricey with a big bit to cover.
