Is my red cordyline done for?

My red cordyline has lots of brown sad looking leaves on it, is it done for? I’ve had it a good few years now & it’s survived all winters apart from this one seemingly.

Should I cut back the brown leaves or just leave alone & hope it will recover come spring?

If it were mine I would be hoping it did not survive!
Seriously I think it depends where you are in country for temperatures and frosts.

Don’t do anything until real spring! It may come back. I have one that looks way worse than that.

My highly experienced gardening mother keeps telling me this, and she’s right.

I (think I have) lost loads this past year due to the awful summer heat and then 2 weeks of solid frost, but I shall do as I’m told and leave it all until I’m sure it’s really dead.
